UM blew the doors off the place!
The incredible Martin Garrix concert at The Tabernacle on December 30th had very high energy and long jams. They brought all the intensity and excitement that I could have hoped for, even though I wasn't sure if they would save their energy for NYE. Kris was also animated, and Jake and Brendan seemed especially cranked. The light show stayed in sync with the music as if it were another amazing instrument.
Especially for my wife, headphones were a good option as she didn't need the live volume. My teenage son also used them for certain songs to hear all the notes crisply. I used them some, but actually enjoyed the times without them for the most part.
I am in my mid-50s, raised on 70s progressive rock and love most music genres, especially Jazz Fusion. The crowd mainly seemed to be in their 20s and 30s. UM has become one of my favorite bands of all time, and I can definitely say that. Can't wait for my next UM concert in January at the Lyric in Oxford, MS.
